Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection

Inside and Out

During the inspection, the technician will check various things on the outside of the vehicle. They will check to make sure that the wiper blades are in good condition. They will also check the headlights, fog lights, brake lights, and directionals.

Next, the tech will get inside the vehicle to check the horn, the emergency brake, and the cabin air filters. If all of these items check out, your vehicle is that much closer to passing the inspection.

Tire Check

During the inspection, the technician will check your tires. They will need to ensure that the tire pressure is correct and that the treads aren’t worn down too much. They will also check for damage. If the tires don’t pass inspection, you would need to replace them before your vehicle can pass inspection.

Brake Check

Your brakes need to be functioning correctly for your vehicle to pass inspection. The technician will check the front and rear brake pads, the rotors, calipers, and all of the hoses. If there are any issues with the brakes, the problem would need to be repaired before the vehicle passes inspection.

Under the Vehicle

If your vehicle is going to pass inspection, the technician will need to inspect it underneath. There are plenty of parts under the vehicle that are essential to its safety. While under the vehicle, the tech will inspect the following:

• Shock absorbers
• Suspension
• Steering components
• The exhaust system
• The driveshaft
• The fuel lines

During the inspection, the technician will also inspect the transmission, the transfer case, the engine, and the differential. If they notice any leaks coming from any of these parts, your vehicle won’t pass inspection.

Under the Hood

During your multi-point inspection, the technician will look under the hood. They will check the fluid levels, the water, drive belts, the engine air filter, and the air conditioning hoses. They will also test the battery to ensure that the connections are free of rust and corrosion and that the battery has enough juice to keep your car running.
